| Great Northern stored many of the BIG 2882s around 1954 as deisels replaced them on the Rocky Mtd Division of the GN, a few were still running near Duluth in 1954 as reassigned. In 1957 GN still had 75 steam engines running between Minot and Minneapolis for the fall grain rush of 1957. These were about 6,400 HP. |
